Kolčavka

You can't start with anything other than the homestead, after which Nad Kolčavkou Street got its name. The origins of the local homestead date back to the 18th century. The homestead was initially a smaller building that was connected to the local vineyards. At the beginning of the 19th century, the estate was converted into a sumptuous summer house, which served as a summer apartment for the nobility, where the nobility went to relax. There was also a huge garden around the summer house, which was later transformed into a smaller English park. In the middle of the 19th century, the estate acquired a new owner and was converted into a private boys' higher economic and technical school. However, the school did not last long here, and towards the end of the 19th century, Kolčavka was converted into a cement factory. Thus began the darker side of Kolčavka's history, when the castle began to decline and decay. In the 1930s, the homestead became a home for people experiencing poverty. At the beginning of the 21st century, the homestead was repaired.

O2 Arena

About a 15-minute walk from the Nad Kolčavkou project, the largest hall in the Czech Republic, the O2 arena, is located. The O2 arena was built to host the World Ice Hockey Championship in 2004, and its construction cost was around 17 billion Czech Crowns. Until 2008, the hall bore the name Sazka Arena, after which it changed owners and received the current name O2 Arena. The multifunctional arena offers more than 40 different types of transformations of the auditorium and surface. For example, hockey matches, concerts, and corporate events can be held here. Various events are also associated with different audience capacities. For a hockey match, the capacity is around 17,000 spectators, and for concerts, it can exceed up to 20,000 spectators. The metal band Metallica has held the record for the number of spectators since 2018 when a total of 20,174 spectators came to see their concert. The second highest attendance of 20,083 viewers belongs to the Czech group Kabát.

In 2018, a new, smaller, multifunctional congress and cultural center with a total capacity of 10,000 spectators, O2 Univerzum, was built next to the O2 arena.

Gong Theatre

The Gong Theatre is a 9-minute walk from the project. The theatre was founded in the 1950s and is named after the amateur theatre association of the same name, which has been active in Vysočany since the end of the 19th century. During its history, many artists took turns in the theatre, with Ivan Jandl, who was awarded an Oscar and a Golden Globe, probably the most outstanding, whose commemorative plaque can be found in the theatre. Currently, the theatre has two stages. The Big Stage has a capacity of 250 seats, and the Small Stage has a capacity of 60 seats. In addition to plays, the theatre also hosts musical performances and corporate parties. Gong also offers a large number of theatre plays for children as part of the Gong for Children project, and thanks to the AHA! Theatre choir.
